Roland Stühmer studied CS/Informatics at the University of Karlsruhe, now KIT. His studies were focused on information systems and software engineering. He received his Diploma writing a thesis about Complex Event Processing (CEP) in Rich Internet Applications. Additionally he was employed as a student at SAP Research Karlsruhe to test his Event Processing engine in the evaluation of an e-government portal.
Roland Stühmer now works as a Research Scientist at FZI with Prof. Rudi Studer in the department IPE. He actively participates and participated in the EU research projects SYNERGY and PLAY in workpackages on Complex Event Processing and is involved in the coordination of project PLAY. He is consulting the industry partner Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG (SSB) in matters of Complex Event Processing. Roland Stühmer is part of the group focused on Complex Event Processing (iCEP) headed by Dr. Nenad Stojanovic.
