Unai Goñi Otegi studierte Informatik an der University of Basque Country (EHU/UPV) und an der University of Padua. Innerhalb von Projekten während des Studiums spezialisierte er sich auf Web-Applikationen und Software für mobile Plattformen. Er sammelte dabei Erfahrung mit Java, C, Adobe Flex, ASP.NET und PHP.
