Francisco Mendoza completed his Bachelor in Electric Engineering and Information Technologies at the “Tecnológico de Monterrey” in Mexico City. In 2008, he received his Master in Electric Engineering and Information Technologies with specialization in Embedded Systems at the University of Karlsruhe. He worked at ABB Research Center Germany on his Master Thesis. As of June 2009 he works as research scientist in the Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering (ESS) area of the FZI.

Interest areas:

  • Development of platforms for field devices in the automation industry

  • Use of Virtual Platforms in the development process of complex embedded systems

  • System-Level co-simulation of digital, analog and AMS components

 

Current Projects:

  • Conceptual design and implementation of a SystemC/Simulink co-simulation Design Automation Framework

  • Development of SystemC models for field devices in the automation industry

  • Evaluation of domain specific industrial algorithms via HW/SW co-simulation
