Benjamin Blau studied Information Management and Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) with focus on information and knwoledge management, artificial intelligence and eFinance. From 2004 to 2005 he studied as part of a foreign student program at the University of California, Santa Barbara with specialization on machine learning, financial management and markets and incentives.

He finished his diploma thesis in cooperation with the SAP AG Germany and partly abroad at the SAP Labs. Bangalore 2006/2007. In January 2007 he reveived his Diploma degree in Information Management and Engineering. Since March 2007 he has been working as a scientist at the Research Center for Information Technologies (FZI) and as a PhD student at the Institute of Information Systems and Management (IISM) at the University of Karlsruhe.

In July 2009 he finished his PhD in Economics. Currently he is head of research devision "Corporate & Cloud Services" at the Institute of Information Systems and Management (IISM) and the Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI).
