Tobias Conte studied "Information Engineering and Management" at the Universität Karlsruhe (TH). The main emphasis of his studies were the areas of economics, computer science and law. From 2004-2005 he completed a semester abroad at the University of California, Santa Barabara (UCSB). In 2006, he worked as an intern at SAP AG (Business Consulting EMEA) and continued this realtionship with SAP in course of a working student engagement. He wrote his diploma thesis at the Institute of Information Systems and Management (IISM), Information & Market Engineering (Prof. Dr. Christof Weinhardt), titled "Best Execution or Best Intentions? Modellgestützte Definition der bestmöglichen Ausführung in der MiFID".

Since 04/2007 Tobias Conte works as a scientific associate at FZI (Forschungszentrum Informatik), research division "Information Process Engineering" (IPE) in the BMWI research project THESEUS/TEXO. His research interest are business models and incentive schemes in business webs, especially the formation of business webs, evolving structures, and power distribution, as well as the impacts of strategic behavior of individuals on the overall network welfare.
