Clemens van Dinther studied Business Engineering and Management at the Universität Karlsruhe (TH) and the National University of Ireland in Galway with major in Management. Since June 2002 he worked as a research assistant in the group of Prof. Dr. Christof Weinhardt at the Institute of Information Systems and Management of the Universität Karlsruhe (TH). At this time he was team leader of the research project electronic Financial Trading (e-FIT) funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the stock exchange in Stuttgart (Börse Stuttgart), Reuters Germany and trading fair.
He also organized national research conferences and workshops and contributed to and coordinated research proposals. He published various articles on international journals, conferences and workshops (see also his web site at IISM).

Since November 2005 Clemens van Dinther started to establish the department Information Management and Systems at the Research Center for Information Technologies (FZI), Karlsruhe. He received his PhD from Universität Karlsruhe (TH) in August 2006.
