Lilia Filipova-Neumann studied economics at the University of Sofia and the University of Augsburg.

From 2004 to 2009 she worked as a research assistant at the chair of Chair of Economics, Economic Policy and Industrial Organization at the University of Augsburg.

She was a scholarship holder of the BGPE graduate program of the Elite Network of Bavaria

Applying concepts from information economics and contract theory in her dissertation thesis she studied the effects of modern monitoring technologies in cars on the efficiency of automobile insurance markets.

In June 2009 she joined the research team of the FZI director Prof. Dr. Christof Weinhardt and since October 09 she has been heading the group Information Management and Systems (IMS)

Her research interests lie in the field of business models, pricing strategies and regulation for creating optimal incentives in value chains.

She coordinates the activities of the research group “Smart Grids and Energy Markets” in which FZI and the Institute of Information Systems and Management (IISM) cooperate.
