Eugenie

Eugenie Giesbrecht has received Diploma with Distinction in Linguistics, English and German Studies in Chelyabinsk (Russia).

After this, she studied Cognitive Science in Osnabrueck (Germany) and in San Diego (USA) with a major in computational linguistics. She graduated from the University of Osnabrück with an excellent degree in 2008. During her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Department of Computational Linguistics at the University of Osnabrück and interned at IBM Research and Development Lab in Boeblingen (Germany).

Since April 2008, Eugenie works at FZI Research Center for Information Technology in Karlsruhe in the group of Prof. Rudi Studer. Here she is involved, amongst others, in the BMWI Reseach Project THESEUS.

Research areas:

  • distributional semantics, word space models, applications of distributional models of meaning
  • text summarization
  • opinion mining, sentiment analysis
