IDS
Welcome to IDS !
The research activities of the group Interactive Diagnosis- and Servicesystems (IDS) of the Center of Research (Forschungszentrum Informatik, FZI) mainly concentrate on the development of mobile service robots as well as the diagnosis and inspection of installations and technical systems.
In the field of mobile service robots the main focus of the work is the development and steering of high flexible platforms by using multjoint systems. Actual projects in this field are working on the development of a four-legged and a six-legged walking machine and of a multi-segmental sewer-robot. For the steering of these systems adaptive steering systems are used.
The field of inspection and diagnosis concentrates on the interpretation of measurements for the determination and valuation of the condition of installations and technical systems. This work is based on a multitude of separate measurements which have to be evaluated all together for the diagnosis. Actual projects in this field of work are dealing with tele-inspection and tele-diagnosis, inspection of pipelines and the diagnosis of a spraying installation in the car industry.
The group IDS is working closely together with the research group IAIM (Industrial Applications of Informatics and Microsystems) of Prof. Dr.-Ing. R. Dillmann at the Institute of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Karlsruhe (TH). The staff of Prof. Dillmann at the CSE can be contacted on their staff page.
