Klaus Uhl studied Computer Science at the University of Ulm from 2000 to 2005. In 2003 he got the bachelor's degree "Bachelor of Computer Science" (B.Comp.Sc.) with the thesis "Design and Implementation of a Quadtree Service for Miro". He finished his studies in 2005 with the degree "Master of Computer Science" (M.Comp.Sc.). His emphasis was on robotics, embedded systems and machine learning. He wrote his master's thesis "Entwicklung und Evaluation eines objektiven Bewertungsverfahrens für SLAM-Algorithmen" in the department Interactive Diagnosis and Service Systems at the FZI and in the department Neural Information Processing at the University of Ulm.

Since 2005-09-01 Klaus Uhl works as scientific assistant in the department Interactive Diagnosis and Service Systems at the FZI. He works on the development of control software for mobile platforms with a focus on the use of cognitive methods for robot navigation.
