Ralf Trunko studied Industrial Engineering at the Universität Karlsruhe (TH) with emphasis on Informatics and Operations Research. During his studies he passed several internships, amongst other also at FZI and at the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe as well as an internship abroad in UK. 2001 he finished his studies with the degree Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur and worked initially at the Office for International Cooperation at FZI. In January 2004, he started his doctoral studies with the topic "Context-aware Exception Handling in Business Processes using Petri Nets" (Prof. Oberweis, Chair for Enterprise Information Systems at the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB)) at the Universität Karlsruhe (TH). In May 2009 he returned to FZI (research division Software Engineering) and manages the project GlobaliSE. Since January 2011, he is department manager inside the research division Software Engineering.
