Mischa Ahrens studied chemical and process engineering as well as energy technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). During his studies, he worked as a student and research assistant at various KIT institutes. The subject of his master's thesis was the optimization of battery use in intelligent buildings with their own power generation capacities.
From 2017 to 2018, Mischa Ahrens worked as a research scientist at KIT. Among other things, he worked on methods for minimizing the communication effort in smart energy grids.
Since 2018, he is a research associate at FZI, where he has been working on improving the resilience of electricity distribution grids, utilizing the energy flexibility of production companies, and the smart charging of electric vehicles.
