At iMobility in Stuttgart, the test area for autonomous driving Baden-Württemberg (TAF BW) will be presented. At the exhibition for intelligent mobility, ideas and concepts of the test area will be visualised by means of a virtual test drive.

The focus lies on the presentation of autonomous driving and Car2X functions as well as the data infrastructure. The demonstrator – composed of a model vehicle, a video wall and traffic lights with a related roadside unit (RSU) – particularly demonstrates the communication between car and traffic lights and the provision of information on the traffic lights. Challenges, solutions and advantages of autonomous mobility will be explained and visualised.

In the test area, vehicle systems for automated and interconnected driving in real traffic are to be tested and developed. Traffic areas of various kinds will be prepared for automated and interconnected driving. Therefore, highly precise 3D maps as well as sensors for the collection of real time data on traffic and its influencing factors will be installed. Furthermore, the users receive information about the traffic light sequences and the movements of bus, city and tram traffic. The first launch is scheduled for 2017.

The Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg provides funding of EUR 2.5 million for the TAF BW.

At iMobility, you can find us in the sector "Mobilität: nachhaltig und digital" (mobility: sustainable and digital) at the stand of e-Mobil BW State Agency for Electric Mobility and Fuel Cell Technology Baden-Württemberg GmbH.
