Students’ Day 2019

We cordially invite students to come to the FZI House of Living Labs on November 20, 2019 between 02:00 p.m. and 06:00 p.m. for the annual Students' Day!

Do you want to look round the FZI House of Living Labs and get a first impression of the FZI as well as its current research contents? Or are you looking for new job and career opportunities? No problem!

The FZI offers many opportunities to work in an industry-oriented environment during or after your studies: as a research assistant, master’s degree candidate or research scientist. Whether you are a student of informatics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, economics or related disciplines – we work in an interdisciplinary environment and have various job openings for you.

During the Students' Day 2019 you will have the opportunity to visit the Living Labs and to discuss demonstrators, test them and collect information about them together with contact persons.

Fresh smoothies, soft drinks and snacks will be available.

02:00 p.m. Welcoming

02:30 p.m. to 05:30 p.m. Science dating for interested persons

Starting at 03:30 p.m., our science dating tables with competent contact persons will be at your disposal. In short personal conversations, researchers of the FZI can give you an insight into the industry-oriented research of the FZI or inform you about current career opportunities in the particular field of application.

Do you already have a concrete question on a research assistant job or on another topic? And do you want to specifically talk to a suitable contact person? Please feel free to make an appointment!

Further information on the contact persons can be found here.

02:30 p.m. to 06:00 p.m. Experience the FZI House of Living Labs

Simultaneously to the science dating, you will have free time to visit the FZI Living Labs and to discuss demonstrators with contact persons on site, test them and gather information about them.

In the entire building there will be current offers for internships, openings for research assistants, tesis offers as well as job openings.

03:30 p.m. to approx. 04:30 p.m. Experience research and science up close

In a kind of "hop-on, hop-off"-HoLL tour we will explain the core research areas of the particular research divisions and provide you with the opportunity to experience the Living Labs up close. The tour starts at the info point, which can be found at the entrance of the event area.

06:00 p.m. End

The FZI Living Labs:

FZI Living Lab smartAutomation:
IT security of embedded systems, the so-called "embedded security". Within this area we research on solutions to protect the know-how of devices, software, hardware, and production data.

FZI Living Lab Software Innovation:
Augmented reality for process and data visualisation.

FZI Living Lab smartMobility:
Research on intelligent load strategies in order to charge considering the state of the grid and the state of charge of electric vehicles with respect to the grid and resources.

FZI Living Lab Automotive:
Continuous verification, validation and testing of developed algorithms and methods via realistic simulations up to prototypical realisation with our partners in instrumented test vehicles.

FZI Living Lab smartHome/AAL:
Increase in comfort and security by means of intelligent home automation, e.g. turning off electrical devices when leaving the house.

FZI Living Lab Service Robotics:
Development of innovative service robotics solutions for challenging, force-based assembly, joining and handling tasks also for the human-robot collaboration (HRC).

FZI Living Lab smartSecurity:
Adapted development processes and tools for a model-based design, evaluation and optimisation of highly interconnected systems and cryptographic procedures.
