Workshop "Distributed Ledger Technologies in the Context of Data-driven Business Models"

Develop possible business models, evolving through the use and transfer of data, in the framework of the workshop "Distributed Ledger Technologies in the Context of Data-driven Business Models" by means of established creativity methods on December 3, 2019. Discuss the use of DLT-based systems together with representatives of research and industry. We are looking forward to meeting you!

In an increasing number of fields of our private and professional life, data are being collected, stored and processed. An economic consideration of data as an economic commodity is a frequently discussed topic on many application fields and shall enable a better exchange of information across organisational boundaries. This concerns, for example, for medical data the exchange between patients and institutions in the healthcare sector, such as the attending physician. In industry and machine data, it reflects the exchange between various companies and institutions. The question is which data-driven business models arise from the multitude of existing data and enable a profitable exchange both for individual persons and companies. Some parties see in the use of the distributed ledger technology the potential of illustrating the cross-organisational information-/data exchange without additional trustworthy intermediaries.

The research project ODin ("Organisationsübergreifender Informationsaustausch mittels Distributed Ledger Technology", engl. cross-organisational information exchange by means of distributed ledger technology) deals with this thematic, which is conducted in cooperation with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Scheer GmbH. In the framework of the workshop, we want to discuss and examine together with interested parties in detail, how data-centred business models and the distributed ledger technology (DTL) can be reconciled.

Learn more about the current research project ODin and develop in the framework of the workshop, together with representatives from research and industry and by means of established creativity methods, possible business models, evolving from the use and transfer of data. Moreover, discuss the use of DLT-based systems in that domain.

The participation is free of charge and only possible with preliminary registration.

Note for registration: Please indicate additionally, which function and role you have in your company and inform us about your expectations of the workshop. Thank you!
