Dr. Svenja Marx Appointed into the FZI's Board of Trustees as Representative of the German Federal Ministry of Research

Since November 2019, Dr. Svenja Marx has been representing the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in the FZI's Board of Trustees. She follows Dr. Rainer Müssner.

Dr. Svenja Marx was already appointed into the Board of Trustees of the FZI Research Center for Information Technology in August 2019. The neurophysicist, holding a doctorate, is part of the Board of Trustees of the Karlsruhe research institute as representative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. She performed her new task for the first time at the meeting of the Board of Trustees in Karlsruhe on November 26, 2019. Marx follows Dr. Rainer Müssner, who was since 2018 part of the Board of Trustees as representative of the German Federal Ministry.

On the day before the meeting, the members of the Board of Executive Directors Prof. Dr. Andreas Oberweis, Jan Wiesenberger and Prof. Dr.-Ing. J. Marius Zöllner used the opportunity to bring Marx the FZI's research diversity closer. During the tour through the FZI House of Living Labs, Wiesenberger explained: "As an independent research partner for small- and medium-sized companies, the FZI works in a variety of joint projects with innovative companies, funded by the Federal State and the Federal Government. As representative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Svenja Marx brings her view from an federal policy level on the IT applied research into the work of the Board of Trustees. We cordially welcome Ms. Dr. Marx and are looking forward to the future cooperation!"

The Board of Trustees is the FZI's highest council according to the statutes and consists of renowned experts from science, research and politics. The six female and fourteen male trustees accompany the FZI's Board of Executive Directors and define the principles for the work of the research centre. They consult it in its long-term strategic orientation, the effective design of technology transfer as well as the safeguarding of the scientific excellence.
