"Small and medium-sized enterprises jointly successful through AI" – with this approach we, as the consortium team, develop the concept of the AI Platform "AI2Ynet".

In the competition phase, which took place between April and August 2019 on the AI innovation competition of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the consortium mobilised a broad network of partners, which took over the organisation of the 10 nationwide workshops. The aim was to consult the needs and demands of wider small and medium-sized enterprises and to thus reflect, deepen and expand the concept of the platform. In this framework, potential users of an AI platform came together with innovative AI providers and experts in a fruitful exchange.

The overview of the last four months shows: Overall 116 SMEs, associations and institutions expressed themselves concerning obstacles that have to be faced by SMEs in the utilisation of AI and mentioned expectations regarding a platform for the AI exchange, in the framework of the AI2Ynet conception. The results flew into the final application, which was handed over to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) on August 16, 2019.
