Senior-friendly digitalisation solutions can provide more comfort and an interactive social life in the private life. E-health research can also contribute to the optimisation and simplification of procedures in the medical environment. The Baden-Württemberg Minister of Social Affairs Manne Luca, gained diverse insights into the health-care research at the location Karlsruhe during his visit on August 14, 2019 in the framework of his summer tour at the FZI House of Living Labs.

Representatives of the FZI Research Center for Information Technology presented together with the nubedian GmbH, a spin-off company of the FZI, current research topics by means of concrete project examples like KommmIT or SereNaWeb. In the project KommmIT, a consortium deals with the questions how senior citizens can be offered access to information, leisure offerings and services by means of modern technologies. The project SereNaWeb deals with the cross-sectoral aftercare of geriatric patients by means of a common web platform.

The visit showed the importance of the  interdisciplinary research in the development of future-oriented solutions for medical questions.
