September 23, 2020: AI & Industrial IoT

The continuous monitoring of the product and process quality with AI technologies plays an increasingly important role in the industrial sector. In the framework of the event OpenInnovation@HoLL, several short lectures will demonstrate potentials and applications of AI in the industry. An overview of the open source landscape in the Industrial IoT - e.g. projects of the Apache Software Foundation - will be given as well as an insight into the topic "Human-Centric Industrial AI", a current research focus at the FZI. In this research area we focus on how AI and users, especially business users without IT skills, can better grow together and benefit from each other.

Subsequently, the participants can identify and discuss in creative sessions of the Micro BarCamp "Open Innovation meets AI & Industrial IoT" potential and use cases for their use of AI in an industrial environment. The focus will be on procedures for the fast implementation of suitable solutions - obstacles and risks in dealing with AI remain in the background in this Micro BarCamp.
