Open HoLL

Innovation through Cooperation

The project Open HoLL follows a unique method: It combines the concepts of open innovation, thus the innovation-supporting transfer of knowledge between companies, with the real and virtual research environment of the FZI House of Living Labs (HoLL).

The aim is to link relevant actors as early as possible and to include them into the development of solutions for the digital future.

Open HoLL relies on three interengaging core modules:

1. Dissemination: Virtual HoLL

Small and medium-sized companies that want to inform themselves about the current state of research or are looking for a research partner, can visit the HoLL either on site in Karlsruhe or easily access the Virtual HoLL via web viewer: in order to participate on a virtual tour though the individual Living Labs, interact with the demonstrators and thus to experience the current state of applied research in a playful and vivid way.

2. Networking: Open Innovation Community

As an online forum, the Open Innovation Community is available to interested parties for the exchange of ideas and impulses as well as for the exploration of cooperation opportunities both with other companies and with research institutes. The online forum provides research institutions the opportunity to both attract industrial partners as well as to obtain feedback from practice.

3. Event: OpenInnovation@HoLL

The event OpenInnovation@HoLL brings research and industry together in a physical form: on four event days on the topics of energy and IT security in October and November 2019 as well as on a special exhibition in autumn 2019. Detailed information on the event can be found here.
