Abstract
The adoption of advanced semiconductor technolo- gies in automotive electronics introduces new qualification chal- lenges. In this paper, we propose a framework that provides an environment for all partners in the supply chain to collaborate in seamless assessment of a new technology during all development phases. The framework enables the assessment of system char- acteristics such as reliability and power without requiring any intellectual property exchange. The proposed methodology adapts the continuous change of internal models automatically, supply chains and parameter interdependencies during the different design phases. It also supports early decision-making throughout system planning and the identification of alternative suppliers. The framework’s applicability has been evaluated exemplary by assessing the reliability of an autonomous car. We show that the overall car reliability can be improved by up to 7.4% by selecting appropriate suppliers and technologies.
