Lennart Ries studied electrical engineering and information technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he focused on driver assistance systems and machine learning. He wrote his master's thesis at the FZI on the application of neural networks for anomaly detection in vehicle data. After completing his studies, he started working as a research assistant in the research area "Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering" (ESS) in January 2018, where he deals with methods of data analysis in the field of validation of automated driving functions. From 2019-2021, he was deputy head of the Automotive Systems Engineering department. In May 2021, he took over the management of this department together with Jacob Langner.
