Markus Lemmer studied electrical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he focused on control theory. He completed his master thesis with the topic "Desigan and Analysis of discrete-time linear-quadratic two-play-tracking control" at the Institute of Control Systems (IRS).

As of October 2018 he is a resarcher at the FZI in the research dicision "Embedded Systems and Sensors" (ESS) working on the development of simulation models for human drivers in the context of enabling highly-automated driving.
