Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering

Victor Pazmino is head of department of the Embedded Computing Systems group at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology in Karlsruhe since 2018. Together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Jürgen Becker from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), he is responsible for research topics relating to the development of embedded systems. The group focuses on AI hardware, embedded neuromorphic computing, edge computing and embedded security.
Within his work, Victor Pazmino is responsible for medium and large projects at national and international level with various industrial partners from the automotive, Industry 4.0 and medical technology domains, as well as semiconductor manufacturers and research institutions.
Since 2023, Victor Pazmino is also vice division manager of Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering (ESS).

Victor Pazmino received his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2023 on the topic of Task Allocation for Efficient Edge Computing Systems. Victor Pazmino completed his studies in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at KIT. During his studies, he focused on systems engineering and system-on-chip as well as the design of embedded systems.

His personal research focus is on heterogeneous embedded architectures and software for edge computing, including the use of hardware accelerators, container technologies and model-based design methods.
