Embedded Systems and Embedded Security


Our activities in the area of embedded systems and microsystems mainly address the application fields Mobility and Automation and Robotics. In the field Mobility, we focus on the further development of tools for the modelling and evaluation of electrics/electronics architectures as well as on modelling and analysis methods for functional safety at early stages of the development life cycle.

Moreover, we focus on the development support of innovative and resource-efficient advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Besides the development of systems and subsystems, we also focus on methods, tools, technologies and devices for simulating and testing these systems as well as on the integration and tool-chaining of simulation and test technologies. Furthermore, the number of applications with multicore architectures used in embedded systems is growing. On that score, the FZI focuses, among others, on the challenges of software testing and debugging under real-time conditions.
