Timon Blöcher studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with a specialisation on Biomedical Techniques. He wrote his master thesis entitled „Camera based extraction of biosignals for automotive applications“ at the FZI. Since July 2014 he is employed as a scientific researcher at the FZI.

Career

Friedrich Gauger studierte Volkswirtschaftslehre, International Business und Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen an den Universitäten Freiburg/Brsg, Denpasar/Indonesien und KIT Karlsruhe sowie an der Universidade Federal do Paraná in Curitiba/Brasilien wo er seine Diplomarbeit zum Thema "A Novel Placement Mechanism for Dialysis Porewater Samplers" verfasste. Im Juni 2014 brachte er als Stipendiat ein Thema zur Erforschung der Elektrophysiologie der Narkolepsie, einer seltenen Schlaf-Wach-Erkrankung ans FZI. Sein Forschungsinteresse liegt im Spannungsfeld von neurologischen Erkrankungen, Schlaf und Circadianer Rhythmik sowie intelligenter körpernaher Sensorik.

CADS: Erkennung von Kataplexien bei Narkolepsie

Career

Nicolas Kersten studied Biology at Justus-Liebig-University Gießen from 2010 until 2015. He specialized in Phytopathology in his Bachelor thesis and in molecular developmental Biology in his Master thesis.

From 2016 until 2018, he studied Bioinformatics at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. Focussing on biomedical research, the topic of his Master thesis was Analysis of the interplay between viral sequence diversity and antibody neutralization potential in a cohort study of HIV-infected people.

Since September 2018, Nicolas Kersten is a Research Scientist in the research division Intelligent Systems and Production Engineering (ISPE) at FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik. His work in cooperatioon with the workgroup Methods in Medical Informatics under the lead of Prof. Dr. Nico Pfeifer (University of Tübingen) is dedicated to the analysis of molecular and clinical data for personalized cancer treatments under the application of Machine Learning methods.

Lukas Kohout studierte Informatik am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) mit Vertiefung in den Bereichen Telematik sowie Robotik & Automation. Seine Masterarbeit mit dem Titel "KaTiE - Konzept und Analyse einer ambienten Lageerkennung anhand der Funksignalstärke von verteilten Sensornetzwerken im häuslichen Umfeld" schrieb er bereits am FZI.

Seit Juli 2016 ist er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in der Forschungsabteilung ESS am FZI tätig.

She wrote her master thesis with the title of "conceptual design and realization of an evaluation of an open platform for the assistance of ambulatory care" at FZI in 2010. Since June 2010 she is employed as a scientific researcher at FZI.

Jennifer Zeilfelder

Jennifer Zeilfelder studied mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with a focus on mechatronics and medical technology. Already in 2013, she began working as a student assistant at the FZI and gained expertise in the field of biosignal detection and processing. In her master thesis entitled "Development of a Concept for Continuous, Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Measurement in the Ear", which she also wrote at the FZI, she was able to realize her own idea. From September 2015 to May 2016 she was a scholarship holder and since June 2016 she has been working as a research assistant at FZI.

Christoph Zimmermann studied Electrical and Information Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Priorities during his studies were in the field of biomedical engineering. His diploma thesis entitled "Development and Evaluation of algorithms for online- and offline-analysis of EDA-signals" was written at movisens GmbH in Germany.

In July 2013 has work started as a Research Scientist at FZI in the Embedded Systems and Sensor Engineering (ESS) department.
