DEviSE – Systematically Reuse Software Components

In the software development it has become usual to reuse programme sequences that have already been written at some point for newly developing software. Handled correctly, this saves a lot of time and money. However, "copy & paste" leads to loss in quality and high maintenance costs. A new tool chain from the FZI supports developers from the identification of reusable programme sequences to the extraction of independent components up to the reuse – systematically and with high quality.

Palladio: Software-Architektur-Simulator

Palladio erlaubt Performancevorhersage, Zuverlässigkeitsvorhersage, Wartbarkeitsanalyse und Kostenabschätzung. Palladio bietet freie Werkzeuge, sowie wissenschaftliche Beratung und Forschung im Bereich der Software-Architekturanalyse. Mit Palladio können die nicht-funktionalen Eigenschaften von Software-Architekturen (Performanz, Zuverlässigkeit, Wartbarkeit und Kosten) analysiert und bewertet werden. Daher eignet sich Palladio beispielsweise um die "Quality of Service" (QoS) von Diensten vorherzusagen.

Darwin – Guidelines for Long-Living Software Systems

Software systems can last 30 years and longer. Many of them thus exceed the typical life expectancy of cars. The FZI ensures together with ABB that software systems do not start to rust during their deployment. The cooperation partners developed guidelines for the sustainable development and evolution of long-living software. The recommendations help to safeguard the investments.

Q-ImPrESS – Qualitätsvorhersage für SOA-Systeme

Wie sich die Umstellung von Software auf serviceorientierte Architekturen (SOA) auf die Dienstgüte und die Wartbarkeit der Systeme auswirkt, wird im Projekt Q-ImPrESS erforscht. Entstanden sind Verfahren zur modellgetriebenen Vorhersage verschiedener Qualitätseigenschaften. Sie zeigen im Voraus, welche Folgen eine Entwurfsentscheidung hat.

SLA@SOI

Im Projekt SLA@SOI wurde erforscht, wie Qualitätseigenschaften von IT-Diensten bei der Konstruktion Service-orientierter Architekturen systematisch sichergestellt und im Betrieb überwacht werden können. Das FZI steuerte Verfahren zur Qualitätsvorhersage beim Software-Entwurf bei, integrierte die Vorhersage in die entstandene SLA-Plattform und schuf neue Methoden für die Qualitätsplanung bei der Dienstkomposition

Cooperate - New Paths of Cooperation for Diversity Teams in Software Development

Cooperate aims at facilitating the work of visually impaired IT experts and therefore develops a cooperation tool for diversity teams working with modelling languages in software development. This shall make the same contents in both graphical and textual format available and support various output modes, such as magnification, braille or audio output, depending on the visual impairment. The aim is to enable every team member, whether with or without visual impairment, to work in a convenient representation mode. For a seamless collaboration, all representations have to be updated correctly and in real-time after changes. The cooperation tool will provide this feature.

GxP eArchiving

Life science companies produce and manage increasing amounts of data. Partners from economy and science have joined forces in the project, in order to jointly take a step towards solution and corresponding services for a secure, resource-efficient and GxP-conform long-term electronic archiving of data in the field of life science. Particularly, for small and medium-sized companies, like those often found in the life science sector in Baden-Württemberg, there is still no archiving possibility without making great IT effort. The FZI brings in its competences in the fields of cloud computing, the anonymisation and data protection and accompanies the partners in requirements engineering and prototypical safeguarding.

KoPL - Von Kopien zu Produktlinien – Effizientere Entwicklung kundenspezifischer Software

Kundenspezifische Anpassungen gehören heute zu den häufigsten Anforderungen in Softwareprojekten. Das Kopieren und Anpassen bestehender Lösungen bietet hierfür kurzfristig einen schnellen und flexiblen Weg. Langfristig entstehen jedoch Wachstumshemmnisse aufgrund erhöhter Wartungskosten und verschenkter Synergieeffekte.

Das Innovationsprojekt KoPL entwickelt Werkzeuge zur Überführung angepasster Produktkopien in Softwareproduktlinien. Hierdurch können Wachstumshemmnisse überwunden und Lösungen erfolgreicher am Markt angeboten werden.

Trusted Cloud

Die Trusted Cloud Begleitforschung hat aus 14 geförderten Projekte des Trusted Cloud Programmes des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Energie Erfahrungswissen erhoben und zur Stärkung weiterer Unternehmen aufbereitet. Das FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik hat bis zum April 2015 den Schwerpunkt „Standardisierung“ betrachtet. Dabei wurde untersucht wie die Verwendung von Standards den sinnvollen und zielführenden Einsatz der Cloud fördern können. Sowohl für Anbieter als auch für unternehmerische Nutzer von Cloud Diensten wurden Handlungsempfehlungen erarbeitet. Darüber hinaus wurden ausgewählte Standards für verschiedene Aufgaben detaillierter betrachtet.
