Job Description

At FZI we are developing an integrated hardware platform for machine learning applications. Central component of this platform is going to be an accelerator for neural networks implemented on an FPGA. Furthermore, software tools to work with the accelerator (compilers, virtual prototypes, etc.) need to be developed.

We are looking for motivated students with experience in the area of hardware design or neural networks to aid us in the development.

Your Responsibilities

Depending on your area of interest:

  • Identifying potentials for hardware acceleration in software implementations of neural networks
  • Analyze and evaluate existing accelerator architectures
  • Design and implementation of a basic accelerator core
  • Design and implementation of an on-chip interconnect
  • Developing a software tool environment for the accelerator
  • Mapping AI applications to the accelerator platform

Your Profile

  • Experience in designing hardware or neural networks
  • Basic knowledge of standard Linux command line tools is a plus
  • Course of studies: computer science, electrical engineering, or similar
  • Self-reliant thinking and working
  • Fluent in German or English
