Job Description

The FZI is a non-profit institution for applied research in information technology and technology transfer. We are looking for a research scientist to support our research group in our head office in Karlsruhe as soon as possible and on a full-time basis. The key topics of our research group are stream processing, machine learning and big data management.

Your Responsibilities

  • Working on a research project at the interface between logistics and IT in close cooperation with a large automotive supplier
  • Conceptualisation, implementation and evaluation of innovative processes in the field of machine learning, stream processing, Internet of Things, big data
  • Developing and expanding domain expertise in the field of logistics and Industry 4.0
  • Presentation of research results and prototypes in the context of publications and speeches at national and international conferences

Your Profile

  • Degree in informatics, business informatics or a related subject
  • Initial experience with or interest in topics such as stream processing, distributed systems or machine learning
  • Very good knowledge of software development and enthusiasm for the latest technologies and frameworks
  • Interest in application-oriented research (project) work
  • Very good German and English skills
  • You are highly motivated, committed and can't wait to get started right away
