Do you want to scientifically develop current topics with no limitations to the content subsequently to your studies and gain diverse insights into an industrial company through exciting cooperation projects at the same time? The FZI as a non-profit institution for applied research in information technology and technology transfer brings you one step closer to your goal. We are looking for a research scientist (m/f/d) to support our research division Software Engineering at our head office in Karlsruhe as soon as possible and on a full-time basis. The contract for this post is initially limited to two years. Here, you work in a team on the digitalisation of business processes and business areas using artificial intelligence (AI).

Your Responsibilities

  • Participation in research projects including the implementation of prototypes and demonstrators
  • Development of self-learning models and software solutions for the real time analysis, forecasting, recommendation and decision-making including the visualisation of the results
  • Development of solution/implementation scenarios and reference architectures for AI systems for the automation of business processes (robotic process automation)
  • Consulting customers in diverse projects, for example through proofs of concept

Your Profile

  • Degree in Informatics or Business Informatics
  • Experience in high-level programming languages like Python, R, Java
  • Experience in machine learning, for example decision trees, neural networks
  • Ideally experience with business process management
  • Enjoy working in an agile, team-focussed and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and think methodically and creatively
  • Very good German or English skills
