FZI welcomes delegation from the Netherlands
Research Focus: Intelligent Transportation Systems and Logistics
On May 22, 2025, the FZI Research Center for Information Technology welcomed a high-ranking delegation from the Netherlands. The visit focused on international cooperation opportunities, technological developments in the field of automated mobility, and demonstrators of current research in the FZI House of Living Labs.
On May 22, 2025, the FZI Research Center for Information Technology in Karlsruhe welcomed a delegation from the Netherlands with representatives from politics, business, science, and research. Initiated by the Dutch government and accompanied by the Consul General in Munich, Annelies Faro, the visit was dedicated to European networking in the field of sustainable mobility and digitalization.
Participants included representatives from companies such as TomTom, DAF Trucks, VDL ETS, and Solid Sands, as well as research and government institutions such as TNO, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
Insight into application-oriented research
A subsequent visit to the Test Area Autonomous Driving Baden-Württemberg (TAF BW) offered a detailed look at real research environments where technologies are evaluated in realistic conditions. Topics covered included bidirectional charging, networked sensor technology and data acquisition for AI-based systems.

About the FZI
The FZI Research Center for Information Technology, with headquarters in Karlsruhe and a branch office in Berlin, is a non-profit institution for information technology application research and technology transfer. It delivers the latest scientific findings in information technology to companies and public institutions and qualifies individuals for academic and business careers or the leap into self-employment. Supervised by professors from various faculties, the research groups at the FZI develop interdisciplinary concepts, software, hardware and system solutions for their clients and implement the solutions found as prototypes. The FZI House of Living Labs provides a unique research environment for application research.
