Increasing digitalization is presenting new challenges for vehicle development. Functions must be provided quickly, securely, and in a user-oriented manner – often “over-the-air.” At the same time, the variety of hardware components installed is growing. This combination complicates integration and extends development times. HAL4SDV addresses this conflict: A uniform, standardized abstraction layer is developed in the project that acts as a technical link between software and hardware. The aim is to reduce development costs, improve the reusability of functions, and accelerate innovation cycles. Open interfaces and shared tools create a solid foundation for the SDV platform of the future – compatible, efficient, and independent across Europe.
