bitkom AI & Data Summit 2025
Europe's leading conference featuring the latest trends in the application of Artificial Intelligence and data
In September, the FZI will participate with a program contribution and a booth as a partner in Europe’s leading conference on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data in companies.
The following high-ranking political guests will speak at the AI & Data Summit on September 16 and 17 in Berlin:
- Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister of Research, Technology and Space
- Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy
- Roberto Viola, Director General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, European Commission
- Kilian Gross, Deputy Director of the AI Office, Head of Unit Artificial Intelligence - Regulation and Compliance, European Commission
With these German and European representatives as conference guests, the summit brings together national and EU perspectives to highlight the strategic importance of AI, data, and quantum technologies for the future.
The summit also provides a platform to discuss how political and practical requirements can be reconciled in order to create a strong environment for innovation and a competitive and technologically sovereign Europe.

FZI booth
At the AI & Data Summit 2025, a demonstrator will be on display at the FZI booth, highlighting current research and transfer work from various FZI departments:
- A highly realistic simulation of a fictional city district with a special focus on road traffic (among other things, for generating high-quality image and video data).
The simulation also offers visitors interactive access to the following topics:
- The language model-based or reinforcement learning-based description and control of traffic test scenarios
- Attacks on AI models for object recognition and
- Measures to ensure the long-term robustness of AI models
Jacqueline Henle, Jacob Langner, Sebastian Reiter, Janek Bender, and Martin Trat will be available as contact persons at the FZI booth.
Agenda on September 16, 2025
4:20 - 4:40 p.m.:
AI-enhanced Systems Engineering for the Development of complex Medical Devices
Jacob Langner, FZI Department Manager
Presentation topic: The European medical technology sector suffers from increasing legislative requirements. New regulations such as the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) create additional requirements and certification efforts that necessitate additional manual documentation in development and delay innovation. At the same time, generative artificial intelligence (AI) offers great potential for supporting and automating development processes. Therefore, we aim to integrate these new possibilities of generative AI into existing systems engineering methods and use them to enable greater efficiency and quality in development. We are focusing on medical technology as an application domain.
Location: AI in Action Stage
Topic: Health & Pharma
