TACHELES 2026
Clearing the AVF fog: Industry impact and technological sovereignty as the key to success
Under the heading “Clearing the AVF fog: Industry impact and technological sovereignty as the key to success?”, the TACHELES conference organized by the FZI Research Center for Information Technology will take place for the fourth time on May 7 and 8, 2026.
What is it about?
In light of the current crises, TACHELES 2026 asks: How will Europe’s automotive industry hold its own in the era of autonomous and connected driving?’
Together with manufacturers, suppliers, technology providers, scientists and politicians, we openly discuss questions such as: Which AVF research topics will advance the entire industry in global competition? What framework conditions contribute to Europe’s technological sovereignty, and is this sufficient? How can we create a resilient AVF ecosystem that can overcome technological challenges through innovation?
We want to develop strategic scenarios and address technological issues, while critically examining the demands of the various stakeholders. More than that, we want to exploit opportunities and overtake the competition internationally with the goal of bringing autonomous and connected driving at Level 4 and above safely to Europe’s roads and railways!
What to expect
With outstanding representatives from industry, science, and politics, we will examine the current framework conditions and show how they can be effectively aligned with the new circumstances. Experts and conference participants will share their technological expertise on AVF research and development topics with the community to jointly shape the mobility of the future.
Join us when we meet again at the CyberForum and #SmartProductionPark in Karlsruhe. The conference is scheduled for two half-days, with an evening event for extensive networking.
