Philip Schörner studied mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) until 2016. During his master's degree, he focussed on product development, control theory and cognitive systems. He completed his master's thesis on "Metrics for influencing road users in autonomous driving" in the Technical Cognitive Systems (TKS) department.

Since 2017, Philip Schörner has been working as a research assistant at the Research Center for Information Technology (FZI) in the TKS department with a focus on behaviour and motion planning under consideration of uncertainties and has been deputy department manager since 2021.
