Philipp Rigoll studied physics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In his thesis, he focused on the analysis and visualization of LHC data from the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). He then completed his master’s degree in Naturwissenschaftliche Informatik at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. His master’s thesis focused on autonomous object detection and inspection using micro-drones and was completed in collaboration with the Hochschule RheinMain in Wiesbaden.
Since 2019, Philipp Rigoll works as a research associate in the ESS research department at FZI. In 2025, he earned his doctoral degree at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Eric Sax with the dissertation "Semantically Searchable Data Management System for the Development of Image-Based Driving Systems." Since 2025, he is Senior Expert in the field of AI Applications & Data Analytics.
