Late Lunch & Learn
AI Engineering in Production: Work Efficiency versus Energy Consumption (*Event Language: German*)
Lunch & Learn is celebrating its on-site premiere, to which we cordially invite you to the FZI Research Center for Information Technology in Karlsruhe. This time, the “Late Lunch & Learn” will take place in the afternoon, with a keynote speech including a demonstrator presentation. The event will be rounded off with exciting networking opportunities and a small culinary finale.
What can you expect? Experience the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in production.
We ask ourselves the big question: Is optimization based on work efficiency or energy consumption? Both are possible with AI! A playful use case explains how an AI project is planned, implemented, and operated. A miniature robotic arm has to pick up building blocks from a conveyor belt in a specific order and transport them to a destination. The use case demonstrates how deep learning (especially reinforcement learning) can be used to achieve a balance between work efficiency and energy consumption in a robotic arm. For this purpose, the robot arm was first trained in a simulation environment and then validated in reality.
