Job Description

The FZI Research Center for Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is a non-profit institution for applied research in information technology and technology transfer. At the Competence Center for IT Security, the FZI develops innovative methods and tools for different research sectors. The FZI Research Division Information Process Engineering (IPE) is looking for a research scientist for economic issues in the field of IT security. The goal is the development of methods that enable an economic evaluation and a transparent representation of technical and procedural IT security and risk measures.

Your Responsibilities

  • Content-related and strategic further development of the IT Security Center
  • Development of interdisciplinary competences in the field of IT security
  • Development of pragmatic economic approaches for the support of companies with regard to security issues
  • Application of scientific methods and approaches towards practical problems
  • Speeches and publications at national and international conferences
  • Organisation and execution of workshops and informational events

Your Profile

  • Degree in business mathematics, business informatics, industrial engineering and management, informatics or a related subject; doctorate in one of the subjects mentioned above is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of decision support, IT service management, risk management and IT security technologies is desirable
  • Competence in analysis and modelling
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in German and English
  • Motivation and commitment in cooperation with partners, colleagues and employees
  • Interest in applied innovations
  • Experience in project and knowledge management
