Successfully Recertified: Quality and Information Security Management at the FZI

Audit bestätigt die Einhaltung der Anforderungen nach ISO 9001 und ISO/IEC 27001

The integrated management system comprising quality management and information security management at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology has once again been successfully certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022.

The FZI places great emphasis on established quality standards and the appropriate protection of sensitive research and project data. The relevant certifications help the FZI ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements with respect to industry partners, funding agencies, and clients. Furthermore, they provide a reliable foundation for collaboration within the FZI and with external partners and, in many cases, are an important prerequisite for direct commissions and joint research projects.

The ISO 9001:2015 Standard

The ISO 9001 standard is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems. It specifies requirements for a quality management system that enable organizations to systematically design and continuously improve their processes in order to provide products and services that, in particular, meet customer expectations. Key elements include a clear process orientation, consideration of customer requirements, risk-based thinking, and continuous improvement.

The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Standard

The ISO/IEC 27001 standard is a globally recognized standard for information security management systems and specifies requirements for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of such systems. The responsible and purposeful handling of data and information—including, of course, that of project partners and clients—in the FZI’s daily work helps ensure an effective and appropriate level of security with regard to the information being processed.

Successful audit for the FZI

With these certificates, DEKRA Certification GmbH certifies that the FZI’s QMS and ISMS meet the requirements of internationally recognized standards within their certified scope. To this end, the FZI underwent a comprehensive audit.

The FZI has also set itself the goal of continuously improving its information security and quality management systems in the future and proactively addressing evolving challenges.
