Carolin Stein studied Economics Engineering (B.Sc.) and Information Systems Management (M.Sc.) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the Technical University of Berlin.

Since 2021, she has been a research associate at the FZI in the division of Information Process Engineering, and the vice manager of the department for Information Management and Analytics since 2023. Carolin coordinates the House of Participation (HoP) competence center and is responsible for the projects VIRTUS and Realwork. In her research, she focuses on digital participation platforms and processes and is working on her doctorate at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology with Prof. Christof Weinhardt.
