David Oberacker studied Computer Science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2016 to 2022, specialising in software systems, robotics and cognitive systems.

For his bachelor's thesis, "Empirical Comparison of Efficiency and Accuracy of Instance Segmentation for Household Objects under Real-Time Conditions", he investigated the real-time interference capability of state-of-the-art neural networks for robotic grasping.

His master's thesis, "Dynamic Auction-based Allocation of Tasks for Heterogeneous Robot Teams", designs, implements and evaluates a behavior-tree-based system for coordinating a multi-robot team using auctions for task allocation. The work was done at FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik.

Since January 2023, he has been employed as a Research Scientist at FZI in the Interactive Diagnostics- and Service Systems (ISPE-IDS) working group.
