Martin Zehetner studied Computer Science at TU Berlin, where he pursued both his bachelor’s and master’s studies. His main area of specialization was Cognitive Systems, in particular methods of machine learning and AI. During his studies, Martin worked as a student assistant at the Distributed AI Laboratory of the TU Berlin, contributing to AI-focused research projects in mobility, environmental applications, and information systems. After graduating, he continued his work there as a research associate in the field of automated driving and intelligent infrastructure, with an emphasis on AI-based data collection and enrichment as well as perception functions.

Since early 2025, Martin has been a research associate in the Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering research group at FZI. His work explores how AI methods can support the development and operation of technical devices and software systems, primarily in industrial and medical technology applications. This includes data-centric methods for perception systems as well as the generation, analysis, and integration of synthetic and real-world data for their training, evaluation, and operational adaptation.

Martin is preparing to pursue a doctorate at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Eric Sax. The planned research is intended to investigate AI-based synthetic image data as a design variable in the data-centric development of stationary camera-based perception systems.
