Philipp Rigoll studied physics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In his thesis, he worked on the evaluation and visualization of LHC data from the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). He completed his master's degree in scientific computing at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His master's thesis, entitled “Autonomous object detection and inspection in unknown environments using a monocular camera on a micro drone,” was written in collaboration with the Hochschule RheinMain in Wiesbaden. Philipp Rigoll has been working as a research assistant in the ESS research department at FZI since 2019. As of 2025, he has been a senior expert in the field of AI applications and data analytics.
