Divide and Conquer
Network segmentation for beginners and advanced users
How can a corporate network be structured so that attackers cannot simply march through? At the next KA-IT-Si event, Paul Blenderman (Secorvo) will show how effective segmentation works—technically sophisticated, practical, and without slowing down your IT. Afterwards, we invite you to stay for snacks and drinks and engage in discussions.
Network segmentation is a key protection concept for limiting the impact of cyber-attacks, not just since “zero trust” became a buzzword. Effective segmentation has already helped many companies restrict the spread of ransomware.
In his presentation, Paul Blenderman (Secorvo) will show what needs to be considered in segmentation – both technically and conceptually – to avoid restricting the function of services and necessary access while blocking or at least significantly hindering an attacker’s path through the network with as many barriers as possible.
Afterwards, as always, you will have the opportunity for professional and personal exchange during the “buffet networking” session.
About KA-IT-Si – Karlsruhe Security Initiative
Since 2001, 20 partners and 11 supporters from the Karlsruhe region – including Secorvo Security Consulting GmbH, the FZI Research Center for Information Technology, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Karlsruhe Economic Development Agency, and CyberForum e.V. – have been involved in the “Karlsruhe IT Security Initiative.” It raises awareness and provides information on IT security issues, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its goal is to establish a regional platform for knowledge transfer, exchange of experience, and networking between data protection officers, IT security managers, researchers, and practitioners.
