Open Data HackDays 2026
Open data for innovative ideas
In March, the international Open Data Day will be celebrated with a two-day hackathon in Karlsruhe. Work with others to develop creative prototypes using freely available urban data.
March marks the return of the international Open Data Day. OK.Lab Karlsruhe, the European Digital Innovation Hub applied Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, and the FZI Research Center for Information Technology are inviting participants to the Open Data HackDays hackathon.
Over two days, creative minds, data jugglers, designers, and IT professionals can try their hand at interesting prototypes using freely available data. The focus is on urban data. The program is complemented by workshops that offer deeper insight into the possible uses of open data.
Participants only need to bring their own laptop and a USB stick. Catering will be provided during the event. It is also possible to participate in the workshops independently of the hackathon.
The results will be presented publicly again by OK.Lab Karlsruhe at a later date at the DatenCafé ZKM @USEUM (ZKM | Center for Art and Media).
