Dillinger Strengthens the FZI Friends‘ Association's Network
The steel company is contributing its expertise in digitalization and production planning to the FZI Friends' Association's network.
The company Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke AG (Dillinger) is a new member of the FZI Friends‘ Association. It is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality heavy steel plates. It aims to contribute its experience in a technology- and energy-intensive industry to the dialogue between research and practice.
Shaping digitalization and transformation together
Dillinger’s membership in the FZI Friends‘ Association is driven in particular by the expectation of gaining insights into transformation, digitalization, and data-driven decision-making. In addition, the network provides access to cutting-edge research and scientific expertise.
The exchange focuses on topics such as modern data, process and systems landscapes; digital twins; intelligent production planning; automation; and sustainable, energy-efficient production processes. Joint research projects on the planning, optimization, and simulation of business processes also provide opportunities for collaboration.

Industrial practice for research
Dillinger aims to contribute its experience in complex production environments to the FZI Friends‘ Association network. This includes expertise in handling heterogeneous data landscapes and legacy systems, as well as expertise in complex material and process chains and in production planning, optimization, and automation.
Collaboration with research institutions is of great strategic importance to the company. The goal is to combine scientific insights with industrial application expertise and to jointly develop innovative solutions for the challenges of a sustainable and digitized industry.
