Philipp studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in Control Systems Engineering. As a member of KA-RaceIng, he developed control units for the 2016 Formula Student season and served as Technical Director in 2017. He gained research experience at FZI and KIT in data processing, optimization, and Model Predictive Control, and completed internships at Bosch in Germany and Japan. His bachelor’s thesis focused on driving maneuver recognition, while his master’s thesis addressed efficient Hamilton–Jacobi reachability analysis for mobile robot motion planning.

Since June 2023, Philipp has been a research associate in the Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering (ESS) division. He is pursuing a doctorate at KIT’s Institute for Information Processing Technologies (ITIV) under Prof. Dr.-Ing. Eric Sax, focusing on real-time data selection from vehicle data streams and the transition from Big Data to Fast Data.
