Dr.-Ing. Steffen Thoma is an expert in machine learning, semantic technologies, and multimodal AI models. He heads the Knowledge Management research department within the Information Process Engineering division at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology in Karlsruhe.

After studying Information Engineering and Management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), he earned his PhD at KIT’s Institute for Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) with his dissertation on “Multi-modal Data Fusion based on Embeddings.”
