KIT Science Week 2025
FZI Smart Cities at the Market of Opportunities
How can we make tomorrow’s cities liveable and sustainable?
The KIT Science Week 2025 focuses on the city as a shared living space. At the Market of Opportunities, the FZI will demonstrate how smart technologies and new concepts can make our cities fit for the future, inviting visitors to engage in dialogue.
FZI-Whitepaper: Intelligente Quartiere als Schlüssel
What requirements will cities have to meet in the future, and what steps need to be taken today to prepare for this? Answers to these questions can be found in the FZI white paper “Intelligent neighborhoods as key elements of livable and sustainable smart cities,” which we are presenting as part of KIT Science Week. Visit our booth and discuss with our experts the role of science and politics in shaping the city of the future.
Hands-on technology: bidirectional charging station
Our bidirectional charging station provides a practical preview of the future. It already demonstrates how energy from electric vehicles can be fed back into the grid—an important component in absorbing peak loads in the power grid and advancing the energy transition.
