HoLLiECares

A multifunctional service robot to support professional care in hospitals

Start: 02/2020

End: 01/2023

Multifunctional service robots have the potential to support nursing practice in the future. To date, however, only a few operational robots exist in nursing practice. With the further development of the already existing service robot HolliE, new concrete ideas are now to be implemented for this purpose.

With HoLLiE, the functions of assistance and socially interactive robots are to be combined in such a way that in the future a broad spectrum of tasks in care facilities can be covered and professional care supported and relieved in a targeted manner. Components of HoLLiE will be developed and evaluated for three topic areas in care facilities, each with two scenarios. For example, how the transport of larger objects and the provision of care utensils by HoLLiE could potentially relieve caregivers will be studied. Furthermore, automated care process documentation and control of material stocks are to be tested. The scenarios will be implemented in two hospitals in order to meet the demands of the target group.
